ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • It is that time of year again. If you received notification from Public Health that you need to update your immunization records, you must do so by April 30th. Failure to do so will result in suspension starting May 1st. If you have any questions regarding this Public Health mandate, please see Ms. Derman in the main office.
  • Are you interested in learning more about Indigenous culture and traditions? There will be a Pow Wow held May 10 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium and there will be a bus from JHSS going to this event. This event is free for any student who wishes to go. Please come to Room 142 to pick up a permission form, or see Ms. Lefaive, Mrs. Presutti or Mrs. Wildfong if you have any questions.
  • The students of the grade 11 Entrepreneurship class will be selling their custom made products starting April 23rd until April 25th in the second floor foyer.
    Products include: Popcorn, Jacob Hespeler T-shirts, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Ice Cream, Air Freshners, and Super Soda. All sale’s profit will be going to charity so please come out to show your support. For any additional information, please find Mr. Chung in the business department.
  • The Unity and Diversity event is coming up! To commemorate this event, we are going to be buying flags representing the heritage of every student and staff member at JHSS! Each flag will proudly be hung in our cafeteria! Please complete the form on JHSS twitter and our JHSS web site by April 15th.
  • Guys PowerFit Day!
    On March 28th we had over 90 girls participate in the Girls PowerFit Day. We are hoping to have 100 male students participate on Friday April 26th. You do not have to be a PowerFit student to attend. Please pick up a permission form at the Phys. Ed Office. Look forward to seeing you on Friday April 26th.  Cheers, Go Hawks!
  • Students are reminded to check their emails for overdue Library notices. These electronic late slips are for both print materials and technology such as chromebooks and chromebook chargers. And, a word of warning that chromebooks and chargers are for the day only with one overnight grace period. Then late fees immediately begin to be accumulated. Any outstanding lates may result in your account being frozen!

  • Weight Room Memberships – $30.00
    If you would like a weight room membership for Semester 2, please come by the phys. ed office to purchase your membership. You can also purchase on school day. Remember, you are required to have a weight room membership if you are using the facility outside of class time. 
  • Hey Hawks!!! Great News! Did you know you don’t have to hand in your Community Service Sheet anymore?
    Simply log on to MyWay and click on the Community Involvement tab at the top and enter your information.
  • Breakfast Club This is a reminder that ALL are welcome to the JHSS Breakfast Club! If you visit us, please remember to check mark a box on the sign in sheet. These check marks are very important as they help us with funding throughout the year. ALL students are welcome Monday thru Friday 7:30am – 8:00am in the Hawk’s Nest (across from the East Gym). 
  • Attention Hawks, please keep all valuable items in your locker or sports locker.  JHSS is not responsible for any items that are lost including wallets, cash, personal devices, etc. If you lose your Chromebook or textbooks you will be responsible for reimbursing the school. Please do NOT leave items of value in the change rooms.
