JHSS students will begin learning remotely from home on January 5th until at least January 17th and our school will be closed to students during this time. 

Students can expect communication from their Block C and D teachers on January 5th to provide them with instructions about how and when to connect for classes. Students should check their emails and/or their digital classroom spaces for this communication from their teachers.  Students will hear from their Block A and B teachers on Friday, January 7th as to expectations for the week of January 10th.  For our ACE Families, please expect a direct communication from your classroom teacher.

Students are expected to engage in their courses during the following dates and times.  

  • From Jan 5th – 7th students will be in Block C and D.  
  • From Jan. 10th – 14th students will be in Blocks A and B.
Learning Block 1: A or C 8:05 – 10:35
LUNCH: 10:35 – 11:15
Learning Block 2: B or D 11:15 – 1:45

Students need to engage during their class’s scheduled time to be marked present by the teacher.  During the scheduled class time teachers will provide a variety of synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities (whole-class learning, small-group conferencing, and live teacher support to answer student questions and provide individual/small group instruction, demonstrations, or tutorials).  During this learning mode students are expected to follow the responsible use policies.    

We recognize this is difficult news for our students.  If for any reason a student needs to access school support, please do not hesitate to connect with the student’s Guidance Counselor and they will direct the concern as appropriate.

This website contains resources to help students and families troubleshoot technical problems and issues they may be experiencing with their Chromebooks or with their WRDSB computer accounts.  If you are still experiencing difficulties after visiting this site please call the JHSS main office.
