Our school council is for all caregivers and parents of Jacob Hespeler Secondary students. Our next meeting is on Monday, November 18, from 6:30-7:30 pm in Jacob Hespeler’s school library on the second floor. Please join us!

What you can get out of our school council meetings:

· Get updates on what is happening at our school

· Understand how the high school system works and how to navigate it

· Get your questions answered

· Meet with the principal, vice principal, head of guidance, and student reps

· Meet other parents/caregivers from JHSS

· Share your ideas on how to increase parental involvement. (The school council is an advisory body for the school. Also, research shows that parental/caregiver involvement in a student’s school is a major factor in achieving success.)

· Share your ideas on how to support our school’s continued growth and improvement

Responsibilities of parents joining the school council:

· There are no required duties; you can attend any meeting you wish without helping, asking anything, or sharing

When are our meetings (2024-2025 school yr.):

· Mondays at 6:30-7:30 pm. Sept. 23, Nov. 18, Feb. 24, and May 5 this school year
