One year ago, the students at Jacob Hespeler had a goal to run a Relay for Life event. The JHSS Community came together for this important and impactful event on May 30th. We had a great night of ceremonies, food, activities and fun. We want to thank you for being part of this journey.
For the survivors that we met: We are so appreciative of your bravery and strength. I know some of you could not make it to our event, but we know you were supporting us every step of the way! We truly hope you felt the support from our school. Seeing our survivors lead our school in the Survivors Lap was a lasting memory for all of us. Thank you for sharing your stories.
For our Team Captains: Thank you for leading your group to this important cause. Showing the enthusiasm to make a difference was a big reason why we had 200 staff, students and community members attend this event.
To the staff and students who joined teams: We hope that you had a great time and realized that your participation was a small but important step in supporting the Canadian Cancer Society and your greater community.
For those who supported the Canadian Cancer Society by fundraising and offering sponsorships: With your help, we raised $39,000 to fund valuable research and to support those fighting. Thank you so much for your generous support.
The organizing committee wants to thank everyone involved in making this event a meaningful learning opportunity for us and allowing us to impact the greater community.
