The JHSS Math Department hosts an awards banquet every June in the following categories:

  • Grade 11 & 12 Course Awards (based on Achievement, Enthusiasm, Engagement, and Learning Skills)

    • there is one award per course code for the entire school year

  • UW Math Contest Achievement

    • A medal is earned for the top score in the school for each contest.
    • A certificate is earned for placing in the top 25% of all contest writers.

  • Most Valuable Mathlete (MVM)

    • This award can only be earned by a Mathletes participant who has consistently demonstrated enthusiasm and leadership in the math club over the course of the school year.

  • Most Improved Math Student

    • This is awarded to a Grade 12 student who has shown dramatic improvement in their math courses during high school.
