2020-2021 School Year Breakfast Club

Starting Monday September 28, 2020……

This year there will NOT be a designated Breakfast Club “Room”.  This year there will be tables at specified entrances to the school that will hold pre-bagged lunch bags.  If you require food, you will not be able to pick and choose the items you wish to have.  Instead, you will just grab a bag and go.  There will be a gluten free option available.  Please take your bag to your classroom with you and follow the “Boomerang Lunch Module” rules where you will take home any leftovers and garbage.  Please do not waste food and only take a bag if needed.  Any questions or concerns about this new look of the JHSS Breakfast Club, please speak to your teacher and he/she will reach out to Ms Pither.  Thank you for your patience Hawks as we all work through this new year!

Stay safe! Practice social distancing! Stay active! Wash your hands frequently!

HAWKS ROCKS!

THANK YOU!!!

2019-2020

Without the support of our sponsors and volunteers, our Breakfast Club Program would not exist.  “Thank You” just doesn’t seem enough…..

You ALL Rock!!!

MEDIA

We are very proud of our Breakfast Club Coordinator, Ms Pither.  She has received the Volunteer of the Year recognition from Nutrition for Learning for the school year 2018-2019 and in September 2019 she was also recognized as a Local Hero by 96.7 CHYM FM and Waterloo Region Police Association.  Brady and Tara from the morning show came to JHSS’ fall pep assembly to surprise Ms Pither with this amazing honor! Watch the surprise unfold here!

Each year we apply to several grants available to student nutrition programs.  In the past we have submitted videos to the OTIP Sponsorship of School Programs . In 2017 we were successful with this video, JHSS Breakfast Club 2017 and won a $5000 grant.  In 2018 we were not as successful but we are very proud of our students with their 2018 submission, OTIP Grant Video 2018. We are very proud of our students who created these videos and cannot wait to see what they come up with next year!

Thank you Mr Lambert and your Future Forums classes for supporting the JHSS Breakfast Club!
