Breakfast Club is back!!!

We are opening up the Breakfast Club again for in-person visits.  Starting on Wednesday September 14th, the Hawks Nest (located across from the East Gym), will be open for business between 7:30am – 8:00am only! Everyone is welcome! This is a free student nutrition program run by staff volunteers!

Menu items will be limited as we start up but we are hoping to bring back a variety of freshly baked items from our own kitchen, fresh fruit and vegetables, treats and much more!

Please follow instructions as you enter the Breakfast Club room!

Without the support of our sponsors and volunteers, our Breakfast Club Program would not exist.

“Thank You” just doesn’t seem enough…..

You ALL Rock!!!

The program would be greatly appreciative of Grocery Food Gift Cards, or Financial Assistance.  We are also happy to announce we are able to accept food donations again.

If you have any questions, or you would like to make arrangements to make a donation, please feel free to contact the program coordinator, Cathy Pither, via email at

Online financial donations will be available in the near future.

Thank you for supporting the youth in our community!

With Covid restrictions being lifted, we will start planning some future fundraising events.  If you have any ideas or would like to organize a fundraiser to benefit the JHSS Breakfast Club, please reach out to the coordinator, Cathy Pither, via email at

We are very proud of our Breakfast Club Coordinator, Ms Pither.  She has received the Volunteer of the Year recognition from Nutrition for Learning for the school year 2018-2019 and in September 2019 she was also recognized as a Local Hero by 96.7 CHYM FM and Waterloo Region Police Association.  Brady and Tara from the morning show came to JHSS’ fall pep assembly to surprise Ms Pither with this amazing honor! Watch the surprise unfold here!

Each year we apply to several grants available to student nutrition programs.  In the past we have submitted videos to the OTIP Sponsorship of School Programs . In 2017 we were successful with this video, JHSS Breakfast Club 2017 and won a $5000 grant.  In 2018 we were not as successful but we are very proud of our students with their 2018 submission, OTIP Grant Video 2018. We are very proud of our students who created these videos and cannot wait to see what they come up with next!

Thank you Mr Lambert and your Future Forums classes for supporting the JHSS Breakfast Club!
